Mumford & Sons at WFUV
Hello World!
My name is Katie Stein and I am currently an intern at Glassnote Records and yesterday was the best day on the job thus far! Mumford & Sons has come to NYC and they’re amazing! If you haven’t listened to them yet, you are truly missing out. Their album was released Tuesday and that’s also when they performed a session for Fordham University’s popular radio station here in NYC, called WFUV, at MSR Studios in Times Square. It was quite the event- about 100 people fit in to the studio to rock out to Mumford & Sons’ amazing set.
At around 8:00 they started their set and played for 40 minutes (so far the best forty minutes of my week!). It was great to see everyone enjoying their set, everyone certainly seemed taken by the band, getting more enraptured with each song they performed. It took a lot to put this event together, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it through from beginning to end. And I bet you wouldn’t think it’s hard to find a place that sells cases of PBR in New York City, but it’s not as easy as you might think.
The session was broadcasted on the radio station on Wednesday afternoon and we all listened to it in the office and relived a great performance. I'm currently writing this as I watch their performance on The Late Show with David Letterman where they are doing an awesome job! Can’t wait for what’s in store with their concert at the Bowery Ballroom tonight!
