Mumford & Sons Nominated for Two Grammy Awards and Certified Gold

MUMFORD & SONS

NOMINATED FOR TWO GRAMMY AWARDS

SIGH NO MORE CERTIFIED GOLD

“LITTLE LION MAN” CERTIFIED GOLD

New York, NY- Glassnote recording Artist MUMFORD & SONS have marked another milestone in their remarkably young career by garnering two Grammy Award Nominations in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Rock Song for “Little Lion Man.” This extraordinary news is amplified by the RIAA certification of their debut album, SIGH NO MORE and smash song “Little Lion Man” as Gold for sales exceeding 500,000 in the United States.

The nominations are a first for the band, adding yet another incredible accomplishment to their career-defining year. MUMFORD & SONS’ US debut album SIGH NO MORE was released in February to critical acclaim, with glowing reviews from Rolling Stone, The New York Times, SPIN Magazine, Paste Magazine and more. The album entered the Billboard Heatseekers Album chart at an impressive #2 in its first week and continued to climb the Billboard Top 200 where it broke the Top 20. SIGH NO MORE has since become a mainstay on the Billboard and iTunes Charts where it has spent the past 17 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 on the Overall Album Chart. This week also marks the second consecutive week that “Little Lion Man” holds the #1 spot at Triple A radio --“Little Lion Man” hit #1 at Alternative Rock Radio in September. Hot on the heels of the success of “Little Lion Man” is MUMFORD & SONS’ second single, “The Cave,” which is climbing up the charts where it is currently in the Top 25 at Alternative Rock Radio.

The Grammy Academy’s recognition affirms MUMFORD & SONS as one of the most unique and authentic Artists of 2010. In the band’s native UK, SIGH NO MORE is now certified 2x platinum and was nominated for the prestigious 2010 Mercury Prize. The album is now also certified Gold in Canada and in August, MUMFORD & SONS was handpicked by VH1 for their powerful “You Oughta Know” Artist Campaign. After scorching performances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and two completely sold-out North American tours, MUMFORD & SONS have claimed their rightful position as the breakout band of 2010.
