CMJ 2010: Truck Edition!
Day 1
If you were in New York City this past Wednesday and Thursday for CMJ, you may have spotted the Glassnote truck driving around! On Wednesday we loaded up the truck with tons of t-shirts, exclusive Glassnote CMJ merch, candy, and a whole stash of CafĂ© Bustelo to hand out. Our first destination: NYU/Washington Square Park. The ice cream truck, turned pop up store, was beyond awesome. Decorated with our signature Glassnote “G” logo, and spectacularly crazy art from Cookies N’ Cream (by Baked In NY), we rolled up blasting the Phoenix remix album and got everyone's attention!
Our next stop was by far our biggest hit - Madison Square Garden! It was right before the Phoenix show (and if you haven’t heard, Daft Punk was the special guest!). It's safe to say that the truck was no less than swarmed with fans lining up to grab Phoenix merch. One lucky Glassnote Music Twitter follower even won a signed Phoenix poster. After Madison Square Garden, we stopped by the PureVolume House to support Two Door Cinema Club, who played an awesome set later that night.
Day 2
For the second day we started off outside of the Ben Sherman SoHo store to support our newest band Royal Bangs. We blasted their CD Let It Beep! . Many people stopped by and even handed us free stuff from their own bands. When a huge group of “college reps” stopped by we took a bunch of pictures, only to figure out later that they were from MTV! (and you thought we didn’t know!)
Our next stop was to park outside of Webster Hall before and during the Two Door Cinema Club show. Of course due to the “no stalling” rules in NYC, we had to shut off the music and lights, but the candy and Two Door posters were a huge hit! When the show was over we had a bunch of people come up to us, including Ben, the drummer from Two Door Cinema Club to check out our merch and prizes.
All in all it was a great time. Thanks to all who came out and supported us, making the truck a huge success! See you again next year, CMJ…You were a blast!
P.S. Here are some other great shots from CMJ! Enjoy!
