Join Daniel Glass and his panel of fellow music industry veterans as he discusses the history of the NYC Record Pool “For The Record”, with founder Judy Weinstein & dance tastemaker/promoter Bobby Shaw. This is where the leading, cutting edge dance club DJ’s would pick up their vinyl records serviced by all the record companies. Find out what it was like to be part of the insider elite and what went into breaking some of the formative records of the late 70’s & early 80’s NYC Dance/Disco Scene. Hear the stories from the clubs, the insider perspective, and how it relates to promoting and exposing new music in today’s marketplace at 2 pm on Thursday, October 30th only on www.eastvillageradio.com

Daniel Glass, is currently President/CEO of Glassnote Entertainment Group, has held positions at the top of companies such as SAM Records, SBK Records, EMI Records, and Universal Records. While in college, Glass was hired as the first DJ for the world famous discotheque Regine’s, already well known at Brooklyn College for being one of WBCR’s hottest DJ’s . This will be his third eastvillageradio.com show.

Judy Weinstein, current Head of Def Mix, has been instrumental in managing and launching the careers of many of NYC’s hottest dance DJ’s including Frankie Knuckles, Satoshi Tomiie, and David Morales. Past positions include manager of the club “Loft”, manager of NY Record Pool, later leading her to create “For The Record” Record Pool. Soon after she came to manage 125 NY DJ’s as her counter parts left the dance world. In 1987, along with David Morales, she created Def Mix Productions where she still resides as resident Matriarch.

Bobby Shaw, owner of Bobby Shaw Promotions, has held promotional positions at TK Records, RFC Records, Warner Bros Records, and MCA Records. Of particular note is his relationship with Madonna, guiding the early stages of her career with Michael Rosenblatt and Mark Kamins. While at MCA in 1984, Shaw became the first corporate vice president of dance music promotion at any label. He started his own promotion company in 1999.

Show Produced by Adam Herzog of Glassnote Entertainment Group.
